Some sad, some funny, some quirky but very entertaining. I kept wanting to read more and that must be a good sign. Robert has his own unique style of Poetry writing and I look forward to more books by this Journeyman Author.

By Amazon Customer A History of a Journeyman Poet is an amazing collection of poems, observations, & artistry that truly speaks to the well traveled soul. The poems are so diverse, you can relive an old family ghost story, get the authors take on Keats or simply get the jist of having a Hard Day. (One cannot read that poem and not smile!) This compliation is smart, and has such a charm and dynamic use of assonance and poetic form, one can only agree that the author has a soul that is one with nature, one with his culture, and has a oneness with keen observation. His quiet takes on his vast experiences have a unique sadness that draws you in. With poems like 'Mourning' and 'Extreme Mantra', you feel the grief, although it's masked behind general musings of this and that. I love how well versed he is in many different texts and authors and how he uses them in his poems to highlight his influences. I'd have to say that this book is one of my favorites and cannot wait to see some more work from this talented, and seasoned journeyman poet.

By Art555 History Of A Journeyman Poet details the poet's life experiences whether real or imagined in a charming, artistic and creative light. Robert has a profound ability to paint a moment in a clear and unique way, often times using a humorous twist but he is not afraid to address tragedy head on. He celebrates his roots by incorporating German words / names, writing about wearing lederhosen and other interesting memories from his early childhood in Germany before he and his family moved to the United States. This collection of poems are diverse and beautifully written as all the emotions of the human spirit are captured in this phenomenal poetry book. This is most definitely a must read!

BLOOM is an illustrated book of poetry with origins in the author’s experience of cancer diagnosis and treatment. Jay had studied poetry in college and written off and on when he was diagnosed with advanced testicular cancer in 2013.  All proceeds from the sale of the book go to support rare cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. As part of coping with the diagnosis and treatment he began to write more regularly in order to understand and process the experience. He maintained a blog to keep friends and family informed and would occasionally post poems because they often seemed able to communicate what prose could not. He was encouraged to write more and joined Sloan Kettering’s Visible Ink program through which he was mentored by poet Mary Tautin Moloney. Jay is a musician, producer, entrepreneur, beekeeper, carpenter, wanderer and gardener. He lives in Pawling, NY with his wife, daughter, chickens, dog, bees and cat.

Beautiful book of poetry By howe Erickson's poetry combines a naturalist's observations and imagery with the cancer patient's stark reality of fear, power, and healing. This beautiful book, with simple, lovely illustrations, provides a intimate window into a sometimes private but all-too-common struggle. Erickson sees beauty and humor where one wouldn't necessarily expect it, and the verse is remarkably accessible and ethereal at the same time. (spoiler alert!) And it even has a happy ending of health and a newborn daughter in the end! Highly recommended for everyone; highly, highly recommended for those looking for hope and insight into cancer/treatment.

This one gets into your head and your heart By Virginia Ann This collection of poems, germinated in the aftermath of the author’s cancer diagnosis, moved me to tears. Even though these poems began as a means of self-expression, Mr. Erickson is contemplating universal themes and, with BLOOM, he takes us by the hand and moves us, chronologically and psychologically, through a series of poetic meditations on the yin-yang of the human condition. Ultimately, BLOOM is about the transcendent power of love to hold us together, lift us up, and pull us through whatever life throws our way. I highly recommend this book.

This book is different from the first in that it is not in the Stress Management category.But it is chock full of anecdotes, such as: - Then there was Ted, an Italian guy from Queens, NY. Also a year behind me, Ted was smart with a quick wit and had a NYC edge to him. Once, during a school break he visited my home town. Our backyard was unusual in that it fell away where it met the basement foundation then rose somewhat steeply and flattened out to a plateau across from the house. During the winter we used to sleigh down the big hill which ran the length of the house. Well, it took Ted just one visit to make things memorable. Once he had carefully taken everything in he said to nobody in particular “What’s with the barbeque pit for Godzilla”? - One day we had nothing better to do and were sitting around talking. If you’ve ever seen photos of the late actor Karl Malden, Rick has a similar squarish compact nose. Mine on the other hand is long and slim. So, I told Rick that God had made his nose this way, and mimicked the motion a dart thrower uses to gently push a dart to the target. It took nanoseconds to get the response: “Well this is how he made yours” whereupon Rick forcefully clapped his hands together. I ran out the back door of the bunk and into the cornfield, where I was told the fight would be held. No sooner had I gone out back then I saw Jeremy. His lip was bloody, he was filthy and his shirt was torn. He looked like he’d just wrestled a bear. I noticed some movement behind him and didn’t quite know what to expect. Needless to say I was quite shocked to see the two counselors carting in the other participant. Simply put, he was out cold. Apparently Jeremy had clocked him one. From that time forward two things changed. First, I gained tremendous respect my brother. Second, he never lost another fight and his self-confidence rose because of it.

Mudge III It's not just the tips that made sure I kept a copy of this book around, but also the way they're presented: In practical terms, with examples of where features are useful that are applicable to most developers. Of course it introduces the basics, but I suspect that aspect of the book isn't that interesting for most people buying it (almost nobody is required to use Vim!), it's mostly in tying it all together that this book excels. It will take you from a moderate to intermediate Vim user to a fluent Vim user if you follow its guidance and practice.However, it is unlikely that an advanced Vim user will find anything surprising in here. I keep this around for introducing others to vim or helping existing vim-ers gain skill; I rarely need it myself. It's got a target audience, and it's exquisitely tailored to them.

Inconsistent effort By Musical Expeditionary The parts of this book that actually sought out a the Irish connection were interesting and enlightening. His thoughts about Dylan's changes following his trip to England after Freewheelin are spot on and insightful. Much of the book is a bit of a ramble though and doesn't hold together well. He seems to stop just when he should have forged on. More cohesion and focus in the theme would have made it a much more interesting book. Regardless, I enjoyed the book.

Bughouse Chess is the most popular variation of the world’s most popular board game. Sometimes called Simultaneous Chess, Siamese Chess, Double Speed, or Double Five, it s two chess games played side by side by two teams of two players each. I love how bughouse is such a fast time control game, and how it's crazy and dazzling to watch. I came across this book and bought it immediately.I’m glad I did, it’s through and explains everything from clocking to teammate communicating and strategy. At 244 pages and not much fluff , It’s totally worth the three bucks and I’ll keep it in my Kindle library as a reference book.This book is also a great introduction to bughouse AKA exchange chess, tandem chess, transfer chess, team chess, and flying chess. I’m constantly working to improve my game and learn new aspects and angles.I’m holding back a star because I wanted a little more detail on advanced strategy, maybe there’ll be a follow-up book that’ll cover these points, and I’ll definitely get it.All in all, it’s a good buy and totally worth it.4 stars from me!
