Boost your efficiency with WebStorm By Hugo Before I was satisfied using just few features of Webstorm, but this is a powerful IDE not just a basic test editor, this book start from very beginning downloading and installing, presenting all the interface, how to create projects, add new files and how to do the basic functions. The next chapters show how to use the powerful features of the IDE, this show's me much more that I could imagine, before I use poorly this tool, than the book show how to build Web and Native Hybrid Apps, even if know how to do this, you will find new ways to improve your efficiency using Git or Mercurial for example, it's simple, but before I normally use terminal and import manually. This book show how to automatize your job with package managers inside the IDE, this makes my workflow more professional and they teach you how to use the tools to debug and test your projects, to achieve the best quality in your projects.Nowadays these technologies are everywhere, with HTML, CSS and JavaScript you can build games, websites, webapps and hybrid-apps. When I decided to start using WebStorm, my focus are Web and Mobile, there is a bunch of tools that you can use, I like in special Cocos2d-js, Cordova/PhoneGap, Ionic and Phaser.I liked that this book shows the power in every aspect of the IDE, independent of your project or your focus, you will find more ways to do, if you don't know some technologies, I'm very beginner in Web applications in general, you will find the ways to start in the right way, this help you have a basic notion and how to make every work more productive, the way presented is fluid so if you practice you can improve your job more and more. I recommend this book for everyone who work with this IDE or are searching for an IDE to do basically every kind of application.

Definitively reccommended for all Webstorm users By Amazon Customer Short version: buy it, it is worth it.I am working with Webstorm for quite some time now and regard it as the best existing production environment for web projects. So I'm very content with the many features Webstorm offers. However, I seem not to be able to keep up with the speed of improvement of this complex IDE (current version is 11). Mostl of the time I use only the few familiar features I'm accustomed to and don't have the time to look any further. Therefore I was a bit excited to see that a book covering Webstorm was published by Packt and ordered it immediately. Packt is very very good at covering niche themes that other publishers don't touch, though not all of their books are well-founded (okay, most of them are). This is one of the good ones."Webstorm Essentials" covers Webstorm 10 which means it is quite current (Version 11 is out for two months only). With about 180 pages it is not cluttered but written to point. Of course the basics are explained which already is inspiring to try out approaches different from those I am used to. More important are the chapters where Stefan Rosca and Den Patin (to give due credit to the authors here) describe good practices for project setups of, say, React, Angular or Meteor projects. I don't do all of these currently but like to get an overview about it for later. It is true that I could have most of these information online for free (on www.jetbrains.com or elsewhere) but I enjoy to have a book handy to browse and read "offline" without having to stare at a screen. Well done. I give it five stars!

WebStorm (almost) perfect how-to By Fred Usually, I am not fond of IDE books, since they pretty much end up by listing every single keyboard shortcuts of the IDE. Here the author made a a lot of effort to show you how WebStorm can help you tackle your project faster, far from being a reference book you usually don't need. From starting a new AngularJS project, to live-debugging your Bootstrap application, your not only will know all the marvels you can do with WebStorm, but also how to do them quickly. The only reason I do not give this book a 5 stars is because the "Developing your web Application" chapter is way to long and dives way too deep into front code (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, etc.), rather than just staying at the WebStorm / IDE level. Now, to be honest, this is minor since you can easily skip part of this chapter. Overall, should you need to learn more about WebStorm or need to bootstrap your WebStorm project, this book is spot on.
