This book of poems and song lyrics covers over 20 years of living and creating in New York City. I live in the East Village section of Manhattan. The poem themes are summed up in the subtitle - Love. Nature. Song. In particular, I wrote a few poems/songs about NYC and the effects of gentrification. I have been writing poetry since I was a child and then switched to writing songs for many years during my music career. Around 10 years ago I retired from show business and traveled/backpacked the world. Upon returning to NYC I started to write more classic style poetry. I also went back to college to earn two degrees, a BA in Psychology and a MA in Arts Education from NYU. My nickname is Sto, thus Sto-etry! Enjoy!

Writing courageously of a world full of people leaning toward love but obsessed with self, Christopher Meesto Erato serves as both a mirror for our souls and a voice for our collective conscience. Love, Nature, Song - Review by Serena Wang (PhD candidate in Musicology)Through this poetry collection the author pays homage to the three elements that make life meaningful. Love, however, is the one that weaves everything together. In the introduction the author refers to himself as a romantic and indeed, the collection is basically a love story--never the sentimental, saccharine kind, but a sincere, deep romance with life. There are struggles and frustrations of course, like with any relationship, but hope is always present.The poems are personal and autobiographical. The "Nature" section refers to both the love for the natural world (e.g. the superb "Millstream Swim Hole") and the author's keen observations of human nature. The several poems and songs on New York show how his life has been woven into the city's fabric. I am glad that he is able to share his poetry with the rest of us and believe that many verses from this collection will soon become classics.
About the Author Christopher Meesto Erato is a NYC High School Teacher with a BA in Psychology and a MA in Art Education from NYU. Before becoming a full time teacher and writer, Christopher aka Sto (Sto-ology) was a professional Musician and Artist. In addition to playing the club circuit in NYC and LA, touring America and Europe, recording and having a couple songs get radio play, he got to warm up some of his heroes like The Ramones and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Christopher also worked in film and video. He produced, acted in, and did music for an independent feature called "The Electric Urn" that won two awards at film festivals. Mr. Erato has spent half his life in NYC's East Village creating and performing and more recently teaching. He was born and raised in the Connecticut shoreline area.

A beautiful ensemble of poems, there is a common theme of existentialism and the meaning of life; however, other themes such as By socrates A beautiful ensemble of poems, there is a common theme of existentialism and the meaning of life; however, other themes such as love and other human emotions shine through. The author's style is sometimes prose and sometimes freestyle but always pleasing to the ear (mind?). There is emphasis on the urbanization and technology of today's world and how it impacts us. Overall, I thought it was an excellent collection - insightful and thought-provoking. Bravo to the author.

I felt like a student learning from an elder about the very simple truths of life that will ensure our survival and happiness. Love for another and what it means is delivered in poem and song which makes one long to actually hear it sung. As for the artfully expressed love for New York what more can be said, the author is in love.
