#1 Amazon bestselling Author Shaun Webb’s sixth full-length work, and second true crime study, Lost Youth: A True Story, delves into a fateful October 1981 night in Waterford, Michigan that rocked a quiet family’s peace and shook an entire community to its deepest emotional depth. Colette Molyneaux, 13, a cute, healthy and happy teenager, paid the ultimate price in a criminal’s horrible thirst for blood.  Nancy Molyneaux, Colette’s mother, also suffered enormously, enduring the violent act of rape on top of losing a dear daughter. Who was responsible for these monstrous crimes?  Why did such a bright light and friendly young lady have to be extinguished so brutally?  More to the point; what factors could have possibly contributed to the awful situation? In his search for the truth, Shaun digs into the police investigation, forensic science and interviews with the people who were closest to Colette along with others involved in the tragic case. Emotionally wrenching and infuriatingly sad, Lost Youth: A True Story seeks answers which are elusive in nature.  The story will soften the hardest heart and challenge one’s deepest logic. You are the jury.  Study all of the facts and see if you can come up with the answer that resists disclosure.  The surprises this case exposes will perplex you like nothing you’ve ever heard or read. Colette speaks with us from the spiritual world; can we take just a moment to listen?

By Thomas I am so gratified that the writer of Colette's story actually knew her and her peer pressures in 1981. As her father I am captivated by your sensitive and respectful approach to telling the story of her rape and strangulation. Having known her has given you a wonderful unique perspective and writing methodology which glows with understanding when presenting her story. You have taught me so much. The exposure to your research has been very fulfilling in a very good way, to say the least. A good warning to parents and single moms everywhere.Thank you Shaun! Colette's very appreciative father, Tom Molyneaux

5 of 7 people found the following review helpful. stick to the records and less personal opinion By Amy O'Neill I read this book since I know the author. I felt his research was thorough, however I was constantly distracted by what I preceive as him interjecting himself more into the events than maybe was the case. I myself am from a small town and know when something major has happened that you may feel a bit of a connection even if they are aquiantances, but the author seemed to do it a little much. I also feel there was a lot of repetetiveness and at times felt he tried to sensationalize events. I think if he does true crime novels where he has no direct links that it may be better. I was so frustrated that I only made it to chapter 13. I know he worked hard on this, but it wasn't my cup of tea.

Wow By paul corwin Maybe a little to many repetitions, but all in all Shaun did a great job.I remember the murder and I couldn't understand how a 15 year old could do such a horrible crime.I know his father was a sick person his self and his mother was absent, but I grew up in the projects with a lot of kids in the same situation and none of them wound up like this sicko.
