Twenty-two years ago an eleven year old girl wrote a poem that would change her life (and career) forever. It also grew into many poems that, collectively, became Chemistry, Not Science-the words transcending time as they draw upon ageless subjects of love, loss, loneliness, persistence, change and renewal. Written with grace and wit, this contemporary work of poetry aims to pull at one's heartstrings while at the same time eliciting recognitions-Hey, I've felt this way, too!-attempting to both challenge and heal the modern human soul.

Not Science" gives the reader a preview of what's to come - smart, intelligent By JustinSacramento The title of Caroline Wright's poetry collection "Chemistry, Not Science" gives the reader a preview of what's to come - smart, intelligent, thought provoking creativity. I never was one much for poetry. Sure, I read poetry in school like everyone else, and lyrics of songs certainly qualify. But never did I sit down and read an entire book of it. I did with "Chemistry, Not Science". I found myself reading each poem two or three times, and each time it hit me in a different way. I would always try to figure out what Caroline is saying about herself after the first read, but soon found that with each reading, the poem became a reflection of me, spoke to my heart, my mind, my life. I really became hooked, and found myself even going back to poems I had already read to see if my initial impression would change after putting the book down. And it always did. Caroline's poetry is smart, and challenges the reader to not simply read, but understand and feel. Her use of phrasing and language is so creative. Caroline clearly possesses the "science" necessary for poetry, but it's that "chemistry" she references in her title that makes her and her talent special. Preach Caroline! I am a poetry convert!

By Jeff Gaydash I am by no means an expert on poetry, but after only a few lines of reading "Chemistry, Not Science" I knew I was experiencing something special. It takes great courage to expose ones deeply personal feelings and Caroline does it so well in this intensely personal collection of poems. Love, loss, hope, fear and anger are all fair game. Highly personal yet universal themes make for a very accessible read, many readers may find themselves relating to the words presented within more than they care to admit! The accompanying photographs by lidija Fremeau are a perfect compliment to Caroline’s carefully crafted words.
