About the Author Rob Hendler is a performance poet based in Chicago, who can be seen at venues such at Words that Kill, The Uptown Poetry Slam, and the In One Ear Open Mic. Nicely Done First Work By nybookworm This is a lovely book that I highly recommend for those who enjoy the insights that poetry can bring to both the small and large events of one's life. Rob Hendler's poems are accessible even when one does not know precisely what event inspired the lines. (However, there are some events that I would indeed like to know the story behind.) Whether writing about St. Sebastian (a mouse who is worthy of affection); our own or other's choices (both good and bad) in life; challenges of friendship or a job; or random things he observed in Chicago, he brings keen observations to his subject matter.

By joshua Benn Hendler absolutely knocks it out of the park, I'm from Chicago, and his words infuse urban life with deep significance: night and day, the change of seasons, the city and the ways we move through it--Hendler touches all of these in a way that caused me, as his reader, to look differently at it all.
