About the Author James Ring is the author of the five-star terrorist thriller novel Necessary Assets. Ring is a retired FBI Supervisory Special Agent who investigated the American La Cosa Nostra and the Sicilian Mafia in New England. With her husband, and later sons, she operated this greengrocer store in Kingston, New York from 1894 to 1959. 784 Broadway is an entertaining journey and may evoke the readers’ memories of those who similarly influenced their lives. I think James Ring tells a terrific story demonstrating the power of love to form character. He tells of his immigrant family through episodes of childhood memory as well as through reflection as a family man himself. He does so with humor, compassion, affection and the skill of a wise teacher.

His vivid portrayal of a young boy's deep connection with his Italian immigrant relatives and the impact of their vision of family, community, and responsibility on his own evolving world view remind the reader of the powerful and sometimes unexpected role that certain individuals play in shaping the person we become. The reader is drawn into the world of an up-state New York green grocer and the rhythms of that time and place which were magical for a young boy eager to embrace the deep warmth of family and the thrill of summers in the mountains.

Enjoyable read, the Author sharing his life lessons By MEL23 The story is a lot more than the fun of an eight year old spending his summers with the Great Uncles, and working at their family greengrocer store in a small town, it is the life lessons that the Author shares from experiences all summer including fishing and cooking and "the camp" that trigger memories and make it an enjoyable read. The Author,s stories honor the past, keep us in the present but leave some moments to share our own family stories with our own families or friends, and let the next generation figure it out....as the author has.

Northwest sexologist Theresa Reed gives us a fine retrospect of her most insightful essays and experiences from the 90's to the early beginnings of the new millennium.Never one to refrain or pull punches, the works, often laced with acerbic and playful humor and a jaundiced eye toward righteous religion zealots, contain autobiographical history, political innuendoes, guidance on safe play, and the personal experiences as they happened at the time,The conclusion of each chapter contains a brief sample of what's probably her best "hate mail". Only confirming what a sex negative society we really are, based more on fear of the unknown, ignorance, intolerant upbringing and hate, as opposed to love.I personally feel her play parties and workshops provide a public service of a sort to those who feel misunderstood, isolated, or looking to spice up their love live/s in a non judgmental and safe environment. And safety will be paramount given how many will seek to experiment given the popularity, once again, of the aforementioned film.You may not agree with every thing you read or still come away scratching your head as to why some folks participate in activities contrary to the norm. But you'll have to admit Theresa is as fine a spokesperson for love and acceptance as there is regardless of gender, race, creed, etc.

By Portlitz-Didax Universal Imports To better grasp the title given to this review, one must explain the disparities between this edition and others.Os Lusiadas were writen by a highly educated, intelligent individual ( some may argue that Camoes dropped out of the University, but that does not diminuish his intellect or knowledge of classic poetry, rhyme, greek mythology and so forth); the language is that of XVth Century Portugal with the vectorization of a classic education.Taking the above premises into account, one can not just venture out and think that you can get a hold of the Lusiadas without the book having references to the meanings of words, mythical legends, XVth Century expressions or even geography ( certain localities do not have the designation of "yester-century".The cover is very resistant, the markers are there (2) so you do not have to place the business card that has an important phone number and might get lost.Not for nothing, but this is the book that " Os Luisiadas " are taught in Portugal.A must for all lovers of the Greatest Portuguese EPIC.Os Lusíadas em Prosa - Versão Escolar Ilustrada a Cores

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Not a Professional, Much Less Scholarly, Edition By Kenneth Lopez Those looking for a good Portuguese edition of the Lusiads ought to keep looking. Jia-Hu books produced the shoddiest of all possible editions nominally in the service of providing the Portuguese texts for those curious to read the original work. I give two stars instead of one simply because this edition does in fact do what it says on the tin. Unfortunately, the amount of work put into the project seems to have been minutes, not hours. The cover art is taken from Wikipedia, and awkwardly blown up to fit; the back cover synopsis is also lightly modified from the Wikipedia article and is only in English. The text itself is clearly the Project Gutenberg text copied-and-pasted with one click. I assume this to be true because whoever did it made no effort to format it to the page; Page one takes a line to print CANTO I immediately followed by the text, meaning the final line of roughly every fourth stanza - the one that should end the page - instead landed on the top of the opposite page. This error persists throughout the entire volume, meaning that nearly every single page begins with the last line of a stanza. This drives me utterly insane. I wouldn't so much as send a letter that required an extra page for one line, and this book does that on almost every page because Jia-Hu books didn't care to format any of the type. It was printed and is mailed to you exactly as it was pasted from some online text. No notes, no author bio, no pretty typesetting, no forward, nothing. This book is entirely available for free online.The other English reviews on this page seem to be mistakenly referring to another edition, only the Portuguese one describes this book accurately. This actual book can't be described as poor quality, but it is just a laminated card-stock cover, not "resistant" and it does not include ribbon book markers. Like the Portuguese reviewer, I also found misspellings or other sorts of misprints.I bought this book used for two dollars and threw it into a larger order so I didn't pay shipping. It's just about two dollars worth of book. Without any qualification, I can guarantee you that it is not $11 and shipping worth of book.

Primeiro, não há notas explicativas mencionadas nas outras reviews. Segundo, há substituição de palavras, provavelmente geradas por um corretor ortográfico. "Alevanta" se torna "levanta".Portanto, ao escolher uma das edições disponíveis na loja Kindle, desconsidere as vantagens apregoadas por elas.
