About the Author Daniel Wallock is a college student living in New York and the author of three books, which have been downloaded over 20,000 times across 25 countries. His poetry and prose have appeared in 20 publications including Burningword, Wild Quarterly, ExFic, The Vending Machine Press, Agave Magazine, VAYAVYA Poetry, Whistling Shade Journal, and The Bolt Magazine. Daniel has received numerous writing awards including 1st place in San Jose State University's Nonfiction Short Story Contest. In addition to pursing a literary career Daniel spends time speaking for nonprofit organizations, doing marketing and media consulting, and designing websites. Daniel recently presented the keynote speech for Sky's The Limit Fund, a national nonprofit, where he helped raise $140,000.

He has published three books and his writing has appeared in Burningword, Wild Quarterly, Paragraph Planet, ExFic, The Vending machine Press, Agave Magazine, The Vending Machine Press, and The Bolt Magazine. He's received multiple writing awards including first place in San Jose State University's Nonfiction Short Story Contest. He also received a Gold Key for nonfiction, the highest regional honor, from Scholastic's Art and Writing Awards. Daniel worked as manager of marketing at Ginosko Literary Journal and he's founder of This Very Breath Journal and Hello Distance Poetry Blog.Daniel's poems in this collection are like passing thoughts, but they are so carefully constructed that the thoughts linger, much like memories we consider private. Back when I was younger, I used to always write poetry as a way to escape problems I had in my childhood, whether it be from the lack of friends, to the lack of attention from my family and my parent’s fighting. My own poetry was just so depressing that I don’t even want to look at it anymore. Since then, I haven’t really picked up any poetry books or even did so much as look at poetry. Beautiful and concise, Wallock masterfully employs his words to express a deep sense of longing. Give yourself to the gentle ebb and flow of this poet's most intimate thoughts and feelings.
