Life, Love & Everything In Between is a compilation of thirty poems to Empower, Enlighten and Entertain. Poems dealing with concepts of philosophy, psychology, nostalgia, love, romance, inspiration, religious beliefs and humor. I wrote my first poem in 1978 just to express how criticism could destroy or cripple an individual when support could cause talent and beauty to grow and flourish. By Kriszteven This is the first book of poetry I have read with the intent to review. I write poetry on the side and hope to publish some day, and I respect the author for putting his work out for the public to view and respond to. That takes courage and other admirable traits.After brushing up on scansion, I think I can describe his poems as largely written in iambic hexameter, with line breaks at the pauses (caesura). Visually on the page, though, the rhyme scheme is a b c b. One example: Before a fire blazing Where logs to embers turn I sit with friends so dear to me And talk and think and learn.The author has a knack for that meter, and I understand how it's possible to develop a frame of mind that favors a certain form. He allows the occasional stray syllable or soft rhyme, which cultivates a neighborly, approachable tone. While this is a strength for certain themes, I felt that some of the weightier topics he wrote about called for a corresponding mindfulness in the structure of the writing. I I found myself wishing for layers of meaning, wordplay, or any other kind of interaction between lines and stanzas. Keeping strict form adds energy to language, and some topics call for that, IMO.I'm giving this collection four stars because it is heartfelt, an honest gift of self to the greater world, and at its best, this collection earns it. If I were to grade to the average, I would give it three stars. Is that harsh? I'm sorry, I'm doing my best here. I respect the author is casting his bread on the water, and certainly encourage him to continue to do so.I was given a copy of this book in exchange for a review.

A treasure of an anthology to return to By maggie I was very fortunate to recieve this collection of poems in return for an honest review, and honestly, I thoroughly enjoyed it.One observation is that for me some of the poems took a couple of readings to get the full sense of what the writer was saying and occasionally the rhythm and rhyme seemed to be a bit off. However, this did not detract from my enjoyment of the book, and may have served to make me really concentrate on what was being said.I will leave the detailed analysis and critique to those who understand thestructure of poetry, for me, the variety and occasional quirkiness of the poems was very enjoyable.I am very grateful for TM Thompson's generous spirit, his sometimes profound, witty and fun observations of our stumbling progress on this journey we call life, love and everything in between.

Life Love and Everything In Between By Amazon Customer Mr Thompson is a person who has a belief in reincarnation it is a believe I do not share but I did enjoy his poems. I believe we can acquire knowledge from all belief systems.One of my favorite poems was on Believing . Yes I would recommend this book to those who enjoy poetry and those who don't.
